April News:

More Medals: Bailey Toms won Gold in the SW Club NDP’s and Lewis Dennis Bronze and went to Birmingham to represent the SW in the National Finals.

A Month and a bit of Medals

A fantastic period of results for the Club with the Girls in the Trampoline Squad travelling to Bath University for the first Grades of the year and returning with the team Gold.

The next weekend Gymnasts went to Plymouth and competed in the Devon Novice Championships where 17 year old Tasha Harding won Gold and the Devon Over 14 category, Kimberley Shute came home with the Bronze in the 13 year age band.

The following weekend was a shorter trip to Newton Abbot for the Devon Club Championships where Maisie Tolley won Bronze in a closely fought 12 year old group.

Then it was off to Exeter for a Boys’ Competition where Lewis Dennis was 2nd, Bailey Toms 3rd and Harry Baxter 4th in the National Development Club Level 3, a good start on the road to the National Final.

The next weekend saw Coaches and Gymnasts travelling in many directions. On the Saturday Lewis was joined by Alex, Jess and Naomi in Taunton in the SW trial for the National Tumbling Championships, where he won Elite Level 1, 11-12 yrs with a massive 76.80 and a qualified for a place in Stoke in May. The girls did well with Alex Pinggera 6th in the large group of 13+ National Level 3, Naomi Passmore 3rd in the Elite 2 13-14yrs and Jessica Addis Gold in the Elite 2 10-12yrs.        At the same time the Cheerleading Group was in Newport South Wales, the 10 Girls ranging from 7 to 16 years, were really pleased to return to the Bay with a trophy for 4th place at their first competition. A long day but well worth the effort! You will be able to see them in action at Displays around the Bay during the summer.

The Sunday had to Girls competing in Melksham at the trials for the SW Team for NDP Grades Finals, although they didn’t get in the top 4 places they looked good against the best in the region.

This is our best ever start to the year and just rewards for all the effort put in by the gymnasts, their coaches, the coaches of the many other groups who help make the 1000+ member Club viable and the Committee of Parents who help fundraise and on occasions paint the walls and take rubbish to the tip.
